Carnet Santé. An independent reference to French healthcare
The desk

Methodology.

How this reference is researched, written, funded and corrected — the rules the desk works to.

What this is

Carnet Santé is an independent editorial reference that explains how France’s healthcare system works — access, funding, records, innovation, and the gaps in between. It is not a clinic and not a campaign. It gives general information, not medical or legal advice.

How entries are written

Every entry is written in plain explainer language against the public record: the fee schedules and rules published by the Assurance Maladie, the statistics of the DREES, and comparative data from the OECD. Numbers are used only when a public source carries them, rounded for legibility, and qualified as approximate where the statistics move. We never fabricate a figure or a quotation.

Independence and sponsorship

The reference is supported by readers and by the organisations listed in Le Registre. Sponsors have no influence on coverage — never on wording, never on figures, never on what gets written. Sponsorship buys a named entry in the register and nothing else.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we correct the entry and note the correction on it. See Sources for how figures are checked.
